As we journey through the school year, I wanted to take a moment to share some of the heartwarming and inspiring initiatives that have been taking place at our school. From kindness days to engaging literary adventures, our Royalview community has been bustling with positivity and growth.
Kindness Days: Spreading Joy, One Act at a Time
Our school is built on the foundation of kindness, and our recent Kindness Days have exemplified the spirit of compassion that thrives within our halls. From heartfelt notes to acts of service, students and staff alike have come together to spread joy and support throughout our community. Witnessing the kindness and empathy displayed by our students fills me with immense pride and hope for the future.
One School, One Book: A Literary Journey for All
Our One School, One Book initiative will be starting in a few short weeks. Through One School. One Book our goal is to spark a love for reading across our school community. Through shared reading experiences and lively discussions, students, families, and staff will embark on literary adventures together, fostering a sense of unity and excitement for learning. We are looking forward to the conversations that will be sparked by these books to extend beyond the classroom, enriching our school culture and nurturing a lifelong love of reading.
PBIS Rewards: Recognizing Positive Behavior
At Royalview,, we believe in celebrating the positive choices and contributions of our students. Our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) program has been instrumental in promoting a positive school climate and reinforcing the values of respect, ownership, cooperation, kindness, and self-control. Through PBIS rewards, students are acknowledged for their exemplary behavior and encouraged to continue making positive choices both inside and outside the classroom.
Utilization of the 3R Room: Cultivating Responsibility
Our 3R Room is a room with activities to teach children how to play cooperatively. It is incorporated into our PBIS program by having the Royal Lunch Tray winners have access to the room as well as classes throughout the day. This room’s main goal is to allow teachers to teach social, relationship, and problem solving skills to their class, utilizing board games in the process.
Enriching Field Trip Experiences: Learning Beyond the Classroom
We are excited that our students have had the opportunity to have field trips again. Field trips offer our students the opportunity to explore new environments, expand their horizons, and make meaningful connections to their learning. From Playhouse Square visits to outdoor adventures, our field trips provide hands-on experiences that bring curriculum concepts to life and ignite curiosity. These enriching experiences not only enhance academic learning but also foster a sense of wonder and appreciation for the world around us.
As we reflect on these positive moments and achievements, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to our dedicated staff, supportive families, and, most importantly, our incredible students. Together, we are creating a nurturing and inclusive learning community where every child feels valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.
