Quality Profile
Dear Community Members,
On behalf of the Willoughby-Eastlake City School District’s staff, students, administrators, teachers and the Board of Education, I am pleased to present to you our first Quality Profile.
In addition to the high quality education provided to students, the Quality Profile highlights the effectiveness of the district beyond standardized test scores. Featuring academics, arts, student leadership and activities, fiscal stewardship, parent and community involvement, and student services, the Quality Profile shows our community the value of the education provided by our staff. As you will learn in this report, this value reaches far beyond the classroom.
Willoughby-Eastlake is experiencing many exciting changes with respect to communication, facilities and increased educational opportunities for school-aged students and adults. In addition to traditional printed media, the district has increased efforts to disseminate information through electronic transmissions such as email blasts, electronic newsletters, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and messages sent out through School Messenger. Concurrent with these changes, the district has conducted multiple surveys to engage the community and remain cognizant of your educational vision for students.
Perhaps one of the most impactful changes for students and the community will be the construction of three new facilities being built in the district. During the next calendar year, we will begin breaking ground on these facilities. Three new schools, in addition to the School of Innovation and the Northern Career Institute in Willoughby allow for enhanced safety, educational opportunities and shared spaces for members of the community. Educational opportunities for adults have been added at the Career Institutes, located in Eastlake and in Willoughby. These facilities offer evening training for adults in pursuit of further career training.
While thoroughly understanding the obligation to educate children, Willoughby-Eastlake shares a common goal of ensuring that students have a skillset beyond the classroom in order to prepare them to be future leaders. It is a privilege to present the Quality Profile in which we share the countless opportunities offered in and out of classrooms.
