Closing School in Cold Weather
How do we determine if schools should be closed due to cold weather? We look at wind chill, air temperature, and road conditions. In most situations, if air temperature is between 0 and -10 degrees with a little or moderate wind chill, we will likely have school. If the wind chill factor is -15 degrees or below in the school district, we usually will cancel school.

We make every effort to open schools 180 days a year. If you believe it is unsafe to send your child to school because of bad weather, you may decide to keep your child at home. If you do, the child will only be counted as absent. No penalty will be imposed.
