From our nurturing preschool programs to our dynamic high schools, students have access to a full continuum of academic services, including gifted education and comprehensive special education support. Our preschool program has achieved the highest Gold Medal rating for Step Up To Quality, a state designation. The district is proud to be home to the School of Innovation, a nationally recognized National Blue Ribbon School, and Willoughby South High School, both of which have earned top rankings from U.S. News & World Report. We have thirteen campuses consisting of two high schools, three middle schools, one STEM 3-8 campus, five elementary schools, one preschool, and two career technical campuses.

Core instruction is strengthened by evidence-based curriculum resources, universal instructional strategies, and tiered intervention supports to ensure that every learner succeeds. Beyond the classroom, students thrive in a wide range of extracurricular clubs, visual and performing arts programs which are award winning, and athletic opportunities, all of which foster a strong sense of connection, leadership, and school pride. Our middle and high school performing arts programs consistently earn superior ratings in regional competitions, and our student athletes develop not only skills, but lifelong values like teamwork, resilience, and commitment.

We are reimagining education to meet the demands of today and tomorrow. With a growing emphasis on career technical education, our district is developing its own comprehensive career tech program, offering expanded hands-on learning, exploration courses, and capstone opportunities that connect students to real-world careers and experiences. Our flex classes in the high schools enable students to work at their own pace, work within flexible schedules and locations, much like a college campus, and empower them to seek out enrichment or intervention learning supports, as well as mentors, that meet their needs.

A hallmark of our district is the strong support from families and community organizations. Our PTAs, PTOs, and booster groups actively partner with schools, as do local businesses and city governments, to enhance learning environments, fund enrichment opportunities, and celebrate student success.
