Kindergarten Involvement Develops Students

Parents and children are invited to attend our kindergarten readiness night which focuses on preparing your child for kindergarten with a variety of math and literacy activities.  Parents will have the opportunity to play learning activities with their children and teachers, and take the games home.       You may choose one of the following nights to attend (it doesn’t matter what school your child attends next year, you can attend either event):   

Option One:  Thursday, April 19, 2018     6:00 – 7:30 p.m. 

Royalview Elementary   31500 Royalview Drive   Willowick 

Option Two:  Thursday, April 26, 2018    6:00 – 7:30 p.m. 

Edison Elementary    5288 Karen Isle Drive   Willoughby  YOU MUST REGISTER IN ADVANCE SO WE CAN PURCHASE ENOUGH FOOD AND MATERIALS

A Bunny and A Book Initiative
  As a district-wide community service project, the Curriculum Department is spearheading “A Book and A Bunny” as a way to promote early literacy. The goal is to send each preschool student home with a new book and a new stuffed bunny. If you would like to make a donation….

Willoughby-Eastlake City Schools is pleased to announce a new online system for new student registration and for returning students’ annual update of information, powered by InfoSnap. The system is a secure site which offers parents the ability to complete many paper forms online and will diminish the need to rewrite the same information on multiple forms. Camp Invention will be held at School of Innovation this summer. Camp Invention is a week-long summer enrichment program using a STEM curriculum. Bus Tracker
 As we seek to effectively communication with families, we wanted to share some exciting news with those that use district-provided bus service. Our school bus partner, Petermann has developed a phone and web browser application that will allow parents and guardians to securely view the location of all of their child(ren)’s bus locations in relationship to their assigned bus stop.

  Dear Families,
I have had several questions regarding the timeline for communication during an emergency and a lockdown in our schools.  By following the "Read More" link below you will find a letter outlining the general timeline of events in our school buildings when we are instructed to lockdown.  By sharing this timeline, I am hopeful that your anxiety will be lessened when you are not immediately notified, should you hear a school has gone into lockdown.    
 
Mimi Magazine
Students in Paula Clark’s math class were challenged to calculate how much dirt was removed from the construction site at North High. The solutions, and the way in which students addressed the task, can be read in the December edition of Mimi Magazine  
 
Eastlake North High School Hall of Fame Inductees
