About

The technology department plays a critical role in the Willoughby-Eastlake school district during this information age. Students of today have grown up using technology on a daily basis in their home and expect to use technology in the classroom as well.

PowerSchool / Parent Portal

The technology department is responsible for hosting PowerSchool as our Student Information System.   A great feature of PowerSchool is the Parent Portal. The Parent Portal allows parents to log into a web based system to check their student’s grades and assignments.   Grades and assignments are currently posted in the district starting in Grade 2. If you are a parent and are having issues with your Parent Portal account, please contact your student’s school directly. Each building has a person that manages Parent Portal accounts.

School Messenger

School Messenger is the mass call notification system that is used by the school district.   The district utilizes this system to place informational calls to parents about upcoming events in the district.   The system is also used by the superintendent to notify parents of calamity days when they are necessary. Additional phone numbers and notification settings can be updated from within the Parent Portal and clicking on the School Messenger icon.

Filtering / Internet Safety

The district provides internet filtering through iBoss.   This filtering is provided as required by the Child Information Protection Act.   The district also provides internet safety training at various grade levels utilizing the iSafe e-Safety Curriculum.   While the district strives to educate students to use technology responsibly, it is incumbent upon the parents to monitor their child's use of technology.
