Willoughby-Eastlake School buildings are closed
Effective Monday, October 12th, All Willoughby-Eastlake students will transition to virtual learning and all buildings will remain closed until further notice.

Student Activities


Students at Longfellow have the opportunity to participate in the following activities:

Kindergarten Helpers

Students in grade five are chosen to escort children in Kindergarten to the cafeteria for lunch time. They are also responsible for helping them open milk cartons, thermos containers, food wrappers and generally make sure that the Kindergarten children eat their lunches. These leaders also help guide the younger children out to recess. It is good to see students helping each other.

Longfellow Leaders

Longfellow Leaders are students who mediate disputes between fellow students. The students selected are known to be fair, reliable, and good communicators.

Disputing students are given a chance to talk uninterrupted so that each side of the problem is heard. Solutions are brainstormed and an agreement is reached. The Longfellow Leader leads this process. All information remains confidential. Longfellow Leaders are trained in a simple six-step process.

Longfellow Leaders assist with hallway monitoring at Lunchtime. They "catch" students behaving and give them "MUSTANG TICKETS" redeemable on PBIS Prize Day, in the classroom.

Safety Patrol

The responsibility of the Longfellow Safety Patrol is to be sure that students are safe coming to school and leaving the school grounds. Students from the Fifth Grade are chosen to be members of the Safety Patrol.

Student Council

This year is a year of many changes at Longfellow.  In 2019-2020 we will no longer sell popcorn (due to lack of volunteers).  Student Council (STUCO) will be for grades 3-5.  Each classroom will have two representatives for the year.  Mrs. McAndrew is Longfellows STUCO advisor and can be reached at [email protected] with any questions or concerns.
